Our story began in the early 1990's,

UV Systec was founded in Jena/Thuringia in the early 1990s and took over the UV division of ABB AG

(Switzerland).

In 1997, Jenoptik AG sold its shares from UV Systec GmbH to PVA GmbH. After PVA GmbH was transformed into a public limited company (PVA Tepla AG), the Board of Directors of PVA Tepla AG refocused on the core business (construction of vacuum process gas furnaces and crystal growing systems). For this reason, UV Systec GmbH was taken over by uv–technik Speziallampen GmbH Wümbach on August 1st, 2008(at that time the managing partner was Karl–Heinz Meyer) and incorporated as a business division.

As of January 1st, 2010, production was relocated to the location in Bucha (near Jena)

(near Jena). UV Systec GmbH was spun off from uv–technik Speziallampen GmbH on April 1st, 2011 under the direction of Karl–Heinz Meyer and has since functioned as an independent company again. At February 13, 2017, the management was transferred to Mr. René Plank, who has been working in the company since January 1, 2001 as a glass apparatus builder (focus on equipment technology) and operations manager. Between 1995 and 2019, the company manufactured complete systems for UV disinfection of surfaces in the food packaging sector and UV high–performance low–pressure lamps for water and

wastewater disinfection.

Well–known customers such as Danone GmbH, Kraft Foods Group Inc., Friesland Campina, Zott,

Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei GmbH and the Thuringian long–distance water supply had been supplied. For a long time, the low–pressure, high–performance lamps used were among the most powerful lamps on the market (> 70 mW/cm²).The design and manufacture of the lamps was very complex. This led to a large machine park and to an enormous technical specialization of the employees. Due to the competition in the market, these products had to be discontinued at the end of 2019. Since 2022, this completely revised product is restored with the old design but with significantly improved economy (reduction in the cost of acquisition, spare parts and reduced energy consumption).

Since 2011, the following areas have been continuously expanded at UV Systec GmbH:

1. Consulting and sales of UV components to plant manufacturers, dealers and end customers worldwide in the field of UV disinfection with third–party suppliers UVC low–pressure lamps, UVC medium–pressure lamps, ballasts and UV measurement technology
2. Development of a global supplier network with a focus on China

3. Consulting and sales of OEM devices from German partners for air, water and surface disinfection

4. Processing of borosilicate and quartz glass (cladding and immersion tubes, lamp bodies, etc.)

on behalf of plant manufacturers, dealers and end customers.

5.Manufacturing and assembly of devices, mechanical assemblies and accessories (connecting cables, control cabinets, exhaust hoods, reactors, plasma lamps, etc.).

2023: UV Systec GmbH is currently working at two locations with a total of 4 employees.

From June 1st,2023, UV Systec will move to a new, more efficient location in Saalfeld, Thuringia.
